You can add a random distribution to all data, by example to material data, to initial solution fields, etc. In this way more natural variations of realistic phenomena, and the influence on calculation results, can be modelled. This can be especially important for stability analysis.
Both uniform distributed random numbers, or normal distributed random numbers can be applied.
In this example we add a normal distributed temperature field to a rectangular domain. The plot below shows this field.
