Automatically embedded tendon with local mesh refinement

A tendon is embedded over a diagonal of a circular solid. This tendon has an initial stress. Due to this initial stress, the tendon will contract and deform the solid. The solid is modeled with linear triangular elements. TOCHNOG will automatically distribute the tendon over the solid elements (automatic embedment).

Starting from a coarse mesh, several local mesh refinements are applied. TOCHNOG automatically places new elements there where the residue in the equations (in this case the equilibrium equation) is relatively large.

Secondly we show the residue in the equilibrium equation. This explains the location of the new elements.
